How It Works
One Call. Everything Activated.
Emergencies do not wait for paperwork, phone trees or multiple providers. With AfyaRescue, a single call to our crisis centre sets every part of the response in motion at the same time.
The one-call principle
You make one call. From that moment, we take responsibility for the full medical response: transport, treatment, payment guarantees, communication and follow-up. You never have to chase a second provider.
Our Crisis Centre in Masaki, Dar es Salaam
Our Emergency Crisis Centre operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is staffed by case supervisors and on-call physicians who coordinate every element of the response.
- Ground and air ambulance coordination
- Access to our accredited hospital network
- End-to-end case management
- Communication with insurers
- Family notification and updates
From call to resolution
Five coordinated stages, managed end to end by our crisis centre.
Step 1: A Call Comes In
A case supervisor answers, captures the patient’s location, condition and membership details, and opens a case.
Step 2: Triage & Assessment
Our on-call physician assesses the medical situation and determines the right level of care and urgency.
Step 3: Response Deployment
Ground or air ambulance is dispatched and the receiving hospital is alerted and prepared for arrival.
Step 4: Coordination & Care
We manage admission, guarantee of payment, insurer communication and family updates while treatment continues.
Step 5: Resolution & Follow-Up
We coordinate discharge, onward travel or repatriation, and follow up to make sure recovery is on track.
